An MRI scan study of the human brain, initiated by the Brain and Creativity Institute at the University of Southern California, has shown that when people read stories that deal with the core, protected values they believe in, it is the default-node network in the brain that activates and stimulates the individual to search for meaning in the quandary that is depicted in the story narrative.
