Socrates

Quester spent years (over 30!) perfecting the art of Active Listening (used in Psychiatric interviewing) by conducting phone and face-to-face interviews. The foundational elements of our unique interviewing discipline serve as the basis for Socrates. The software presents a topic, and the respondent enters a response, then the system follows up with a probe to further understand their thoughts. Custom probes are developed to address key areas of exploration in addition to the base probing functionality which deploys one of over 15,000 possible probes focused on definition, rationale, implication or general elaboration. This base functionality also integrates portions of the response to ensure the probe is contextually relevant.

Aristotle

Aristotle is a collection of text processing tools developed internally at Quester and for our proprietary use. Aristotle does much of what other text processing tools do – it counts and categorizes words or ideas. But, it does one dramatic thing making it better than all other text processing tools. Within the tool box, is a data reduction tool that makes the review process more efficient by providing a more consumable set of phrases that represent the entire data set.

They key to our success and the reason our insights are so strong is because, first and foremost, our analysts actually dig into the data to identify the key themes and the relationships between them to understand the full story. We go beyond creating more data, or developing more charts for us to treat qualitative like quantitative. A code is not a conclusion. Instead Aristotle makes us efficient reviewers of respondent verbatims. With Aristotle, we can spend more time developing insights using consumer comments as the basis for your next great business decision.
